The Next Evolution of Performance
Powered by Electrolytes + Honey
2O3 (pronounced "two-oh-three") is an athlete-founded performance hydration brand created by brothers Johnny Kaufman, a record-holding powerlifter, and Nelson Cury, a consumer-products entrepreneur.
We make electrolyte drinks designed for the demands of serious training, combining sodium, potassium, and magnesium with real honey to support hydration and provide carbohydrate fuel.
Our belief is simple: Hydration should do more than replace water. It should account for what your body actually loses when you push yourself.
That's why we built 2O3.
Our Story: From the Weight Room to the Can
2O3 started long before we had a name, a logo, or a product to sell.
For years, Johnny had been mixing electrolytes and honey before and during powerlifting training and competitions. He learned the practice from other elite strength athletes, experimenting with how he fueled and hydrated as he pursued national records.
He noticed the difference in how he felt during and after demanding sessions. But getting the combination he wanted meant putting it together himself.
Meanwhile, his older brother Nelson had spent years building consumer-products businesses. Coming from a Brazilian family with four generations of experience producing cane sugar, Nelson was familiar with carbohydrates from an entirely different perspective.
Together, we saw an opportunity.
The sports hydration market had increasingly divided into two camps: traditional sports drinks built around refined sugars, and zero-sugar electrolyte products that removed carbohydrates altogether.
We thought there was room for something different.
A hydration product that combined meaningful electrolyte dosing with a purposeful source of natural carbohydrates, designed specifically for performance.
The idea was straightforward. Turning it into a great-tasting, convenient product took years of formulation, testing, and refinement.
In September 2026, we launched our first ready-to-drink beverage, bringing the combination Johnny had relied on during training to athletes everywhere.
Why We Believe in Electrolytes + Honey
When you train hard, you lose more than water.
Sweat contains electrolytes, especially sodium, which plays an essential role in fluid balance, nerve signaling, and muscle function.
And while many hydration products focus exclusively on electrolytes, we believe carbohydrates deserve an important place in the conversation.
Here's why.
Your small intestine uses a transport mechanism called SGLT1 to absorb sodium and glucose together, with water absorption coupled to that process.
It's a well-established principle of hydration physiology and one of the foundations of oral rehydration science.
Honey naturally contains glucose and fructose. These carbohydrates provide fuel for exercise and are absorbed through different intestinal transport pathways.
That's why honey is central to our formula.
We didn't add honey just for sweetness. We built our hydration system around the relationship between electrolytes and carbohydrates.
Our goal is to support athletes in replacing meaningful electrolyte losses while providing purposeful carbohydrate fuel, without forcing them to consume large amounts of sugar just to reach a substantial sodium dose.
What's Inside 2O3?
Our first product is a ready-to-drink performance hydration beverage, available in Hydro-Lime and Orange Mango.
Every 16 oz can contains:
- 1,000 mg sodium: Our performance-oriented dose for athletes managing substantial sodium losses through sweat.
- 340 mg potassium: An essential electrolyte involved in fluid balance, nerve signaling, and muscle function.
- 60 mg magnesium: A mineral involved in normal muscle function and energy metabolism.
- 18 g real honey: A natural source of glucose and fructose to complement our electrolyte formula and provide carbohydrate energy.
Every can is non-carbonated, made with real fruit, and formulated without added refined sugars or artificial sweeteners.
The result is a sports hydration drink designed around the demands of training, not simply flavored water with a sprinkling of electrolytes.
We don't believe every athlete needs exactly 1,000 mg of sodium per hour. Sweat losses vary considerably between people, sports, and conditions.
But we believe athletes deserve products that take those losses seriously.
Built With Some of the Strongest Athletes in the World
2O3 wasn't developed in isolation.
From the beginning, we've worked alongside athletes who understand what it means to pursue performance at the highest level.
Our founding athlete community includes Johnny Kaufman, Jamal Browner, Austin Perkins, Rondel Hunte, and Sean Mills. These are record holders and champions from the world of strength sports.
Their experience has helped shape the brand we're building, from the way we think about training and nutrition to the community we want to serve.
But you don't need to be a world-record holder to take your performance seriously.
Whether you're lifting heavy, running, playing soccer, training for a HYROX race, or pushing through a demanding Pilates session, we believe the effort you put into training deserves a thoughtful approach to hydration.
Built alongside elite athletes. Made for anyone who's pushing themselves.
Performance Hydration, Not Everyday Hype
We don't believe everybody needs a high-sodium sports drink just to sit at a desk or run errands.
Performance hydration serves a different purpose.
It's about understanding that training places real demands on your body, and that fluid and electrolyte replacement can be important before, during, and after demanding sessions.
Getting enough sodium throughout the day isn't necessarily the same as having a hydration strategy suited to a particular workout.
And replacing fluids after a hard session can be especially important when you're preparing to train again.
We believe the right product, taken at the right time, can be a valuable part of that strategy.
That's the standard we want to build around.
Where We're Going
2O3 launched with a simple goal: to rethink what a performance hydration product could be when electrolytes and natural carbohydrates are considered together.
Our first expression of that vision is our ready-to-drink beverage.
But we're building something bigger than a can.
We're building a performance nutrition brand around purposeful ingredients, thoughtful formulation, and the athletes and communities who inspire us.
We're proud of where we started, in the strength sports community, and excited about where that foundation can take us.
Whether you're chasing a world record or simply trying to get a little better every day, we're here to fuel that momentum.
Built for more.

About 2O3: Frequently Asked Questions
What is 2O3?
2O3 is an American performance hydration brand that combines high-dose electrolytes with real honey. Its first product is a 16 oz ready-to-drink sports beverage containing 1,000 mg sodium, 340 mg potassium, 60 mg magnesium, and 18 g honey.
Who founded 2O3?
2O3 was co-founded by brothers Johnny Kaufman, a record-holding competitive powerlifter, and Nelson Cury, a consumer-products entrepreneur. The brand originated from Johnny's practice of combining honey and electrolytes during training and competitions.
When did 2O3 launch?
2O3 launched its first ready-to-drink performance hydration beverage in September 2026, initially introducing Hydro-Lime and Orange Mango flavors.
Why does 2O3 use honey?
2O3 uses honey as a source of naturally occurring glucose and fructose. Glucose participates in sodium-glucose cotransport in the small intestine, a process involved in sodium and water absorption. Honey also provides carbohydrates that can contribute to exercise fueling.
Where can I buy 2O3?
2O3 products are sold through the brand's official website, 2o3.com, and participating gyms and retailers, subject to availability.
Is 2O3 the same as 203 Hydration?
Yes. The brand's official name is 2O3, spelled with the letter O between the numbers 2 and 3, and pronounced "two-oh-three." Some people also search for the brand as 203 Hydration.
